Mackay Tourism invites you to discover a beautiful part of Australia - the picturesque Pioneer Valley. Situated immediately west of Mackay, the Pioneer Valley is the delight of the self-drive market.

Begin your journey at Marian at the Melba House Visitor Information Centre then meander through emerald green sugar cane fields to Eungella National Park where Australia’s longest stretch of ancient subtropical rainforest lies. This is also one of the few places in Australia where you can see the shy Platypus in its natural habitat.

The Mirani Museum provides a fascinating look into the history of the Pioneer Valley and it's people.
